A Graduate

Image
I am a College Graduate, and let me tell ya about it. I have had a lot of people lately ask me what it is like to be graduated, so I am going to give you a quick little update on what its like. ~Boring ~ Social Life = Gone ~ Cedar Stinks ~ Long Nights ~ Maturing Now I am going to go in to these a little more.... 1. BORING!  Ok my life is not THAT boring, but I will tell you that there is not much to do here in Cedar other than go on hikes and go exploring, which is AMAZING! But all of my friends are in school still, so while I want to go out and do these things, I don't want to do them alone! Being independent is great and all, but it is nice to go out and adventure with friends! There is no room for growth here in Cedar with my degree, so I am ready to move on to somewhere bigger and better (aiming for Vegas or Salt Lake City)!  What makes life not so boring is the fact that all my roomies are getting married! I had the privilege of being a bridesmaid in

BACK AT IT AGAIN

I think I have made it clear that I am terrible at being consistent with this whole blogging thing, but its about to get so much better... LIFE UPDATE! So in the last blog, I bragged about how amazing the Desert was to me! Hands down the best summer of my life, and I wish I could go back.... but I cant. I can. But I will explain why I cant. Life in the Desert is great and all, but there is nothing to do, because majority of the people that live there, moved there to retire. There is a lot of shopping (super expensive strip of stores) or a 2 story mall which is nice, and lots of places to eat, but no one there was my age. I went to church one Sunday, and it was just rows of old people and wheelchairs, and I met 1 girl that was 21 visiting her grandma. It was too small of an area that they didn't have a ward for the young single adults. It's a good thing I was close with the people I worked with, or I don't know what I would have done with myself when I had days off of wo

So I have had a lot of people message me about what I am doing with Marriott, what my plans are for the future, and what I do for my side job! Well here I am to enlighten you on my update of what we call LIFE! Yes, I currently work for Marriott Vacation Club! This is my 2nd year interning for the company because with my major being hospitality, I have to complete 800 hours of work within the industry. I worked Frond Desk last summer (2017) as a Front Desk Agent at Park City, Utah, and absolutely loved it! Every hospitalities first job legit has to be front desk! Any general manager you talk to, will say that they started at the front desk! Park City will always and forever have my heart, but I finished that summer short of 1 week! I was so bummed i couldn't stay another week! So I thought of this as another opportunity to get my name out there and do more networking! I applied for the Activities Coordinator position at Marriott's Shadow Ridge Resort in Palm Desert, Californi

SO. I'm the worst... i realized i haven't posted a blog since November....NOVEMBER! I thought i had posted a few after that.. but that was probably in my dreams... and the other thing is.. i post on social media daily and i feel like that is a type of blogging, because people see whats up with my life for "10 seconds", but they don't really actually know details of what i'm doing and how i'm actually doing! Let me highlight for you some things that have happened since November.. and within a span of a few blogs, you will be covered;) 1. I went home for Christmas to WA and connected with my family more than i did friends 2. I joined a Sorority at my University called Alpha Phi. 3. I went to Newport Beach (again) for Spring Break 4. Invited a Stranger to be my date to my Alpha Phi Formal (its called getting out of your comfort zone...) 5. Went on a field trips and toured Park City Luxury Resorts, and Hotels in Salt Lake City. 6. WHAT A MONTH!!!! I dont deserve my friends! This past month i have been asked by so many of my friends "Do you have somewhere to go for Thanksgiving?" The fact my friends know my parents are in Seattle and some don't know about my Stacie and her husband in the Salt Lake area and ask me if i have a home is so comforting to me. I have such amazing and caring friends that i love so much. Last year we had a Friendsgiving dinner, where each household brought something to share with everyone. As this year came around, i wanted to gather everyone again and have this dinner! I planned for 45 people, assigned food to houses, and brought all of the friends together, and what a humbling experience! Half of these people will be graduating in the spring and it breaks my heart because i have grown so close to so many of them! I cherish all of my friendships so much, and everyone always questions why i take so many pictures.... because i cherish all the memories and friends i make, a

Back to Blogging!

So i had a draft on here about my Marriott life over the summer, but i felt like i gave a good portion of my experiences in my last blog.... But let me just remind you of some things.... 1. Live alone for awhile, you learn a lot about yourself 2. You learn to love your family so much more and what they do for you 3. You meet the most amazing people from all around the world 4. You learn to know who your real friends are that reach out to you even though you are 100+ miles away 5. You learn what your priorities are (making yourself nice dinners, going to church, Fitness, ect) 6. You go on your hikes and adventures and actually have fun by yourself. These are just a few things that i learned from myself from living at Park City by myself, and i am eternally grateful for this opportunity to learn about myself, and taking care of others within the hotels, and making other people a priority instead of myself a priority. Since Marriott is kinda in the past now, i decided to delete

Park City Shenanigans

Hello! I apologize, I realize it has been quite some time since i have updated my blog... but here I am now to update you on what has been going on since I have finished school! This fall I will be a Senior at Southern Utah University, and I am continuing with my major of Hotel Resort & Hospitality Management! This is where my blog comes in to play! I accepted a summer internship at the Marriot Vacation Club in Park City, Utah, and this is where I have the opportunity to see if this major is the one for me. I started my internship May 1st, and my first month was amazing. Here are some reasons why I love my job so far: 1. Everyone on staff cares SO much about every customer. 2. We learn to make relationships with customers, and make sure we go out of our way to satisfy every need they have. 3. We get yelled at by customers quite a bit.. but every moment like this is a great learning experience. 4. Some of the customers become your best friends. 5. Everyday is different Tho
